Volunteer Spotlight: Meet Mona!

Meet Mona, our wonderful volunteer massage therapist!

Mona is a registered remedial massage therapist who first learnt the benefits of massage after witnessing first-hand the effects it had on her mother who was battling cancer.

She was amazed at how massage and acupuncture reduced her mother’s pain and mental stress and helped her sleep through the night.

After her mother passed away in 2016, Mona became interested in pursuing this path and completed a degree in Remedial Massage, dedicating her time to learning about body structures, muscle connections, traditional Chinese meridians and acupoints.

Today she is an extremely passionate and experienced massage therapist dedicated to helping people affected by cancer, and improving the wellbeing of the community around her.

“I always say to people, ‘a massage may not be able to save your life, but it can definitely improve your quality of life.'” – Mona

Mona volunteers once a week at our Solaris Cottesloe centre, providing massage sessions to clients affected by cancer. Her gentle and friendly personality helps clients feel at ease, and they leave her sessions feeling deeply relaxed.
