Spin for Cancer 2016 Wrap Up

Spin for Cancer 2016 Wrap Up

SolarisCare’s newest event, the Spin for Cancer was a great success. Now in its second year the event was held at Brookfield Place from midday Thursday, April 21st to midday on Friday, April 22nd 2016

Teams and individuals took part in the 24-hour spin bike challenge raising vital awareness and $9,267 in funds for the SolarisCare Foundation.

It was fantastic to see such solidarity, support and strength displayed by all participants throughout the event.

Almost everyone in the world is affected by cancer in one way or another throughout their lifetime, and raising money for SolarisCare is a great way to help those affected by the disease.

Each rotation on the bikes made a significant difference to cancer patients and their families across the state. The funds raised will provide patients with access to safe, quality support services to assist with the emotional and physical challenges of cancer.

“The Spin for Cancer is not only a great way for people to make a real difference in the community; it’s also a fun way to create a great team building experience  where businesses and groups get together in a philanthropic corporate environment ” says SolarisCare CEO David Edwards.

The day included spin trainers providing formal spin sessions, massage therapists and reflexologist to aid the weary riders, and prizes were given to the teams and individual who rode the most kilometres.

SolarisCare Foundation collaborated with Goodlife Health Clubs, Brookfield Place, PAV Complete Events and Platform Communications to bring this event to the Perth community.
