Peaceful Embodiment

This five-week course brings together the neuroscience of recovery after trauma, with the latest in mindful movement techniques, and is highly relevant to anyone who feels like their body has changed due to a cancer experience. Using trauma sensitive yoga, and self-compassion practices, your brain can effectively rewire itself to help bring down the stress reactions that big life events such as diagnosis, surgery, chemo or radiotherapy, often create. The idea of Peaceful Embodiment goes beyond body acceptance to using your body as a tool to heal your mind and heart as well.

Facilitated by social worker and experienced trauma therapist Julie Verley, with experienced yoga teacher and psychotherapist Maureen Tan, this is an experiential journey to a renewed appreciation of your whole self and reacquainting yourself with a feeling of peace within your body.
