It’s normal for people with cancer, or any other chronic illness, to sometimes need professional as well as peer support.
There are many issues that arise on the cancer journey and it may help to join a cancer support group or receive professional counselling to clarify the issues, talk them through and help find resolution.
Solaris Cancer Care helps and supports people with cancer and their families to find inspiration, information and wellness. Our fully subsidised support services include cancer support groups, a library, outreach services, and our counselling services.
Solaris offers a range of support groups, including cancer wellness also known as the Tuesday Forum, bereavement groups, and women’s group.
Individual and group counselling sessions are available with our compassionate, qualified counsellors who specialise in counselling people with cancer and their families.
We offer a general telephone support and information service during business hours. Phone counselling during business hours is available by appointment.
Solaris Cancer Care is committed to expanding our support services wider, including to regional areas and outer metropolitan regions of Perth. We have a range of cancer support centres across the state
Each Centre provides a quiet place to relax, reflect and escape the hospital setting; seek a range of accurate information and resources or a friendly place to have a cup of tea and chat.
