Dear Valued SolarisCare and Cancer Support WA Members and Supporters,
On behalf of the Boards of SolarisCare Foundation and Cancer Support WA, we are pleased to announce that our two organisations have agreed to come together in order to create an even stronger supportive care environment for cancer patients, carers and survivors in Western Australia.
This is an exciting development and will enable clients from either group to access an extensive range of services in Perth and the regions, including:-
- Complementary Integrated Therapies
- Counselling
- Chemo Club Exercise Classes
- Resource Libraries and Referral Services
- Support Groups
- Educational Courses, Workshops and Guest Speakers
- Healthy Lifestyle Activities
We will maintain centres at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, St John of God Subiaco, Albany Health Campus, Bunbury (SolarisCare Centres), and the beautiful Wanslea House facility in Cottesloe (CSWA). We also hope to open at Fiona Stanley Hospital in the near future and continue to build our profile across the research and advocacy arenas.
In the interim, each organisation will continue to operate separately, and Mr David Edwards, Managing Director and CEO of SolarisCare, has been appointed to facilitate this process and to ensure that the services and care you have come to know remain and continue to grow into the future. David has been with SolarisCare for seven years and has extensive business and management experience across the private, government and community sectors.
As an essential part of this amalgamation process, we are committed to ensuring that clients and members of each organisation will still be warmly greeted by the wonderful volunteers and staff at the centre you attend, and can also look forward to a greater array of offerings and an exciting shared future. If you are interested in what is currently on offer, please visit the respective websites at WWW.SOLARISCARE.ORG.AU and WWW.CANCERSUPPORTWA.ORG.AU .
In this challenging environment, we extend our thanks to our corporate and community partners for your ongoing support and we look forward to building mutually rewarding partnerships into the future.
We will keep you regularly updated on further developments and activities, however, you are most welcome to contact David on 0409685279 / DAVID.EDWARDS@SOLARISCARE.ORG.AU / Chandrika Gibson on 6151 5410 if you have any specific questions.
Yours sincerely,
Dr David Joske, Chairman and Founder SolarisCare Foundation
Mr Pat Ryan, Chairman Cancer Support WA
