Registration is closed for this event

Join us for a panel discussion that promises to be lively. Complementary therapy use in cancer is a hot topic with plenty of controversies. This is an opportunity to ask questions to a panel of experts. Co-hosted by Breast Cancer Care WA, melanomaWA, Myeloma Australia and Solaris Cancer Care.
Join our panel of experts including a conventional doctor, naturopath and researcher who are willing to share their knowledge and answer your questions.

Around 70% of people with cancer choose to use at least one kind of complementary therapy. There's evidence to show that complementary therapies can help people manage side effects, given themselves a sense of empowerment, and improve quality of life. Yet there's still a lot of fear and controversy, as well as confusion and misinformation about what is safe, effective, and worth exploring.

David Joske is a professor, haematologist, founder of Solaris with abroad understanding of integrating complementary therapies into mainstream care.

Chandrika Gibson is a naturopath, Yoga teacher and yoga therapist with a Masters in Wellness, currently undertaking a PhD in integrative oncology. Formerly a project officer in the Cancer Council’s Life Now program, a patient educator, and now Director of Wellness, Education and Research at Solaris.

Bring your questions on the night, or if you'd like a more considered response, please submit your questions to [email protected] prior to the event so our panelists can prepare.
