Chemo @ home

Chemo @ home

Chemo@home is a WA owned, multi award winning, fully accredited health service. The highly trained and skilled nursing staff can give many treatments safely in the comfort of the patients own home (or workplace).  These treatments include chemotherapy, infusions for chronic illnesses such as multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis and inflammatory bowel disease as well as iron infusions for patients with iron deficiency anaemia.

The chemo@home team work very hard to ensure the whole treatment experience is convenient and centred around the patient and their family. Their nurses travel throughout the metropolitan area administering treatments to patients from Yanchep to Mandurah to Mundaring.

For patients with private health cover, the cost of treatment at home is fully covered by most health funds, with no out of pocket expense.

The patients remain under the care of their own specialist doctor and there is a 24 hour on call nursing service so chemo@home provides an exceptionally safe, convenient and comfortable experience for patients who normally would have to travel to a major hospital and endure hours of waiting.

Some of the benefits of having treatment at home include

  • More convenient;
  • More relaxed, in the comfort of their own home;
  • Less cost associated with travel and parking;
  • Less reliance on carers or child care;
  • Reduced risk of exposure to foreign pathogens in the hospital setting.

If you are interested in any aspect of the service enquiries are welcome on 1300 HOME CHEMO (which is 1300 466 324) or 9328 3123.
