Most of us have, in some way, been touched by the debilitating disease of cancer and for me, this is very personal. I had hoped to spread the word of cancer awareness alongside my mother but her six-year fight with ovarian cancer, took a final hold late last year.
Despite watching my mum suffer, her journey brought my family closer. Even to mum’s last days, I was so scared what would happen in that last moment, that last breath, but all those experiences we had together as a family were part of the human cycle of life.
In a way, cancer was a gift because we had the chance to say goodbye and say thank you. Nothing was left unsaid.
As the long-time Patron of Solaris Cancer Care, I am very familiar with the credible, practical, inspiring and compassionate help, the organisation gives to many cancer families in Western Australia. This support is even more poignant to me now and the cause ever more valued.
Your generous donation will help so we can continue to meet the growing needs of those diagnosed with cancer, and to offer our support services at no charge.
All donations over $2.00 are tax deductible
